On 23 September, the unique rowing feast of the Hladiny ("Surfaces") starts as a presage of the Prague Hamburg Rowing Race 

Prague, September 20, 2018 - This unusual rowing event of the year begins this Sunday. The Prague Střelecký Island will host Hladiny event, which is a rowing academy for children and adults. Under the leadership of the Olympic medalist and the Czech rowing legend, Vaclav Chalupa, everyone will be able to try this popular sport. The unique event took place under the patronage of Mayor of Prague 1, Oldřich Lomecký. 

A week-long event begins with a rowing relay, which will be kicked off by Olympic skiff winner in London SOG, Mirka Topinková Knapková. The relay with a total length of 850 km will be taking place until 27 September, and will attempt to enroll in the Czech Book of Records. The unique thing is that rowing will be taking place nonstop, even at night on the illuminated track in the center of Prague. During Hladiny, visitors will be able to try rowing racing boats under the guidance of Václav Chalupa, Olympic medalist and legend of Czech rowing sport. Part of the program will include professional trainers, demonstrations of rowing training, autograph sesseion of Czech representatives and recruitment of new rowers from both children and adults. Of course, there are also some concerts to create the special atmosphere. The grant for Hladiny was provided by the MHMP and CPI company is the main partner of the event.

Supersprint The Knight's Sword of the Mayor of Prague 1


A week of rowing at Střelecký Island will culminate with Supersprint of eights competing for a challenge trophy Knight's Sword of the Mayor of Prague 1, on 29 Sepmtember. Final races will be held in the evening on the illuminated track near Charles Bridge.

How to Sign up?

The international long-distance stage regatta race will be held 12.- 24. in September for the second time on the river route Prague – Hamburg with the overall distance being 800km.
